World's largest model aeroplane

What would this aeroplane model be?

An obvious choice would be the the A380.

It was installed at a roundabout at the gateway to Heathrow Airport and was unveiled on the 23rd July 2008.

It weighs 45 tons and took 18 months to build and install. The model needed 150 gallons of paint and 600 tonnes of concrete were needed for the foundation to support the structure.

It is 24 metres long and has a wing span of 26 metres which makes it a one third of the real McCoy. It is as big as a smaller member of the Airbus family, the short-haul A320, and twice the size of the Concorde replica it replaces.

Yes the roundabout used to carry a 4/10 scaled-down model of a British Airways Concorde for the last 16 years.

This location is passed by more than 25 million travellers annually. Due to this high human traffic the site is one of the most valuable advertising properties in the world ; to the tune of £1.5 million a year.

Emirates has signed a six-year deal for the site, ensuring it an increased international profile during the 2012 Olympic Games.

Emirates has ordered 45 of the real thing worth more than £10 billion.
